The Festival of Lights

The Schaps Family is unique, everyone knows that! :)  In December we celebrate two holidays; Hanukkah and Christmas.  Andy's parents host an annual Hanukkah Party full of fun, laughter and great company and food!  Andy grew up celebrating with a few his friends and family at his parent's annual party.  The people in attendance started to grow in numbers with the friends and the friends' siblings getting married.  Fast forward to 2010 and now the friends and their spouses have kids and this year the party was all about the kids!  In years past we would gather on the porch and play beer pong til late hours in the night or gather a group and head to Pelican Larry's after the party.  Not so much anymore...this year it was feed the kids first and eat when you can, changing diapers and getting home for a decent bed time!  We had such a nice time with everyone and the kids had a blast playing together.

Baby Oliver is one of the cutest, happiest and content babies you'll ever meet.  So sweet!

Michelle & Devin eating their veggies...or at least the ranch dressing!

Somebody didn't like getting in trouble for double dipping!
Andy's fabulous Latkes! They were quite the hit this year.

Too many cooks in the kitchen...Andy, Diane and Dan.

Lexi having too much fun with the Batcave.  This Batcave was a hit and kept the kids occupied & out of trouble.

I love this picture!  Lexi loved the attention Matt was giving her.

Devin quickly jumped in for the attention too!

Matt's beautiful daughter Michelle.  She's only 3 weeks younger than Lexi.

One year soon we will actually teach these kids the meaning of Hanukkah and the customs and traditions and games, etc.  This year the kids were all 3 and under and just had fun playing, eating and laughing together.  That's an important custom in our family too! :)
