Our Christmas Day

Let me start out by telling you Santa was very, very good to our kids this year!  Maybe too good!  The kids got everything they asked for and more.  Christmas Eve, Santa's two helpers (mommy and daddy), were up very late putting together a train table that the kids really wanted.  Santa's helpers were pretty sick this Christmas Eve and Christmas morning.  Poor daddy had to put the train table together by himself while mommy lay on the couch watching and nodding off from drinking a dose of NyQuil. Daddy was the hero of the night (well in addition to Santa) and put together a mighty fine train table.  We hid it in the back playroom so the kids wouldn't see it as soon as they woke up.  Around 7:30 I heard Devin's door open and I nudged Andy and told him to get ready!  Of course Lexi slept til 8 so Daddy and Lexi got to sleep in a little more.  After the milk cups were poured, we were ready to start our Christmas morning.  Devin was a big help this year.  He was into all of Lexi's presents and would help her open them and help her figure out what it was and show her how to use the toy or whatever it was she got.  Here are some pictures of Christmas morning...It was a huge success!

Devin got the Batcave he's been begging for...It's just like Cal's Batcave... is all he could say.

Devin checking out Lexi's present.

It looked like a wrapping paper tornado went through our house!

Grandma Debbie and Grandpa Sandy came over for brunch and presents later in the morning.  We enjoyed an egg casserole, cheesy grits and of course mimosas (to help with the pain of the sore throat of course!).  We had a great breakfast but what happened after was even better...Lets just say Grandma & Grandpa O'Dean's presents were a huge hit in our house...and still are!  It's even louder in our house now.

She won't even let Teddy go when performing on the piano!

 Who's Billy Joel anyway?!

When you are tired from opening presents and celebrating all morning; how do you like to unwind?  Lexi prefers to have her binky, grab Teddy and well....find an empty box!

After cleaning up the house, we got ready for nap time.  All four of us took three hour naps!!  We all needed it; especially mommy and daddy.  We all woke up refreshed, re-energized and ready for round 2 of Christmas with the Schaps Family.

Uncle Nate and soon-to-be Aunt Cristina hosted Christmas dinner at their condo this year.  They did an Italian themed menu and it was delicious!  Cristina's dad and step mom joined us and made one of the best homemade lasagnas I've ever had.  It was a very nice dinner and great company!

Lexi all dolled up!

Devin practicing for his GQ shoot!

Cristina with her dad and step mom.

More Thomas and Friends accessories for his new train table.

Devin's first lunchbox; thank you Uncle Nate & Aunt Cristina! Can't believe he'll use it soon..sniff sniff.

Lexi loved her new sit and spin! She figured it out in seconds.

Uncle Nate's new Lebron jersey; Go Heat!

More socks for daddy!

Uncle Nate is known to give gifts that are over the top.  He came through again this Christmas for Devin.  He found Devin a remote control helicopter that is out of this world!  It actually flies really high in the sky and still works great after crashing to the ground at full speed, being stuck in various trees and the run in with the neighbor's roof the other day!  It is Devin's all time favorite toy right now.  He thinks it is the coolest thing and so do we!

Uncle Nate & Devin looking for the perfect spot to try out the new helicopter.

Getting ready to fly...

Can you spot the helicopter right above the parked car?  It's so neat!
It was hard to take pictures of the helicopter at night.  Here are a couple from the day time sky!

As you can see the kids had a fabulous Christmas and were spoiled rotten!  They have been behaving so well since Christmas and have fun playing with all of their new toys.  I took down Christmas decorations this weekend and Devin started wining and telling me to stop that.  I told him Christmas was over and the look I got in return was priceless.  I think I broke his heart.  Then I reminded him that we will be celebrating Christmas again next year and he smiled and said Halloween too!!  So I think he quickly forgave me. :)

I've got lots to post...our Hanukkah party and my Birthday/New Years gathering...I'll try to get pictures up quickly.  Happy New Year!
